Obituary

Hailey- Anthony Santacruz, 20, of hailey, passed away Saturday August 17, 2019, at his home. He was born January 25, 1999, in Burley, Idaho, the son of Israel Santacruz and Frances Solano.

Raised in Hailey, he attended schools from Headstart through Hailey Elementary, Wood River Middle School and graduated from Wood River High School in 2017. Anthony loved working with his hands and was a part of the Construction Class in high school.

He lived a short time with his girlfriend Daisy in the Meadows in Ketchum, and had just moved out to his mom’s house to start a new adventure and begin his young adult life.

He was always making people laugh, and touched many hearts. He had a big heart and was always willing to help a friend.

Anthony began working at Rocky Mountain Hardware on August 12. Before that he worked for Jay Hendrick Painting and the Limelight Hotel.

A man of science, he had a crazy passion about space, the planets and stars. Also, he loved collecting all kinds of knick knacks, and stones, and had a green thumb for house plants. He loved nature walks and hiking.

Anthony’s family includes his mother Frances Solano of Hailet, his father Israel Santacruz of Hailey, two sisters Vanessa Tellez (Jessy) and their children Nayeli, Leanna, Isaac and Ismael of Hailey and Chantel Santacruz (Danny Chaves) and their children Aidan and Olivia of Bellevue, two brothers Daniel and David Santacruz, his grandparents Amelia and Rafael Santacruz and grandmother Estela Morales all of Rupert, three uncles Carlos, Rafael and Hector Santacruz, an his aunt Candelaria Santacruz, and his nieces Nataley and Jasmine.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Messages, memories and photos of Anthony may be shared at www.woodriverchapel.com.

The funeral mass will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Hailey.

I am so very sad to hear of Anthony's passing. I was Anthony's 7th grade Science teacher and will always remember him as the smart, funny and kind kid that he was. I loved hearing about his "monkeys" - the little brothers that he looked after. Even though the world is a little less bright without Anthony in it, the stars are a little brighter with him there. Each time I look up at the stars, I will think of Anthony. Shine brightly, Anthony! Until we meet again - love you! Ms. Alleman

I’ve known you since we were in preschool. You were always one of my best friends. You never judged me. You were always there for others. I will never forget the memories we share. Rest easy in the stars. We will miss you.
